Lansdale Single Source For Freescale Semi MC1350 IC Lines

(06/24/2008)

Tempe, Ariz. - - Lansdale Semiconductor, Inc. president, R. Dale Lillard, announced today the availability of three popular wireless integrated circuits (ICs) originally designed and built by Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. in their Tempe wafer fabrication (fab) facility.

Lansdale now has single-source rights to both globally market and continue to manufacture Freescale’s product lines to include the MC1350 intermediate frequency (IF) amplifiers, MC1490 radio frequency (RF) commercial amplifiers, and MC1590 intermediate frequency (IF) defense/military/aerospace amplifiers.

These ICs will be incorporated into Lansdale’s exclusive product life cycle management system. This unique quality control system guarantees form, fit, and function meet the original manufacturer’s design specifications. This assures a continuous source of high performance ICs to the world-wide commercial, defense/military/aerospace, and telecommunications industries.

The MC1350 and MC1490 are basic building block ICs that feature wide range Automatic Gain Control (AGC), which can be used in RF/IF audio and video amplifiers. These ICs are recommended for commercial applications up to 70 MHz that include variable gain video and instrumentation amplifiers, IF amplifiers for radio and TV receivers, and transmitter power output control. Many uses include medical instrumentation, remote monitoring, video/graphics processing, and various types of communications equipment.

The MC1490 operates over the extended –40 to +85 C degree operating temperature range broadening the application usage. These standard commercial ICs are available in standard plastic packaging with a minimum order of 500 units. The MC1350 and MC1490 both meet Freescale’s original design specifications and high performance standards. Both devices are also supported in RoHS compliant versions to meet the strict requirements in and Europe.

The MC1590G is a direct coupled, high gain, monolithic amplifier intended primarily for use in defense, military and aerospace IF amplifiers with operating frequencies up to 150 MHz. The MC1590G comes in a TO-99, 8 pin, metal package and is characterized for the full –55 degree to +125 degree C temperature range. In addition to its extremely high gain capability, the MC1590 incorporates a highly efficient automatic gain control feature and can also serve well as an oscillator and a mixer over the same IF frequency range. The high gain, wide bandwidth, and AGC capability also make this circuit attractive for use in video amplifier applications.
