Lansdale Introduces ML145170 Wireless IC

(11/29/2006)

Tempe, Ariz. - - Lansdale Semiconductor, Inc., president, R. Dale Lillard, announced today the availability of the popular ML145170, a single-chip CMOS radio communications frequency synthesizer designed for direct use in the MF, HF, and VHF bands. Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., originally produced this device as the MC145170 at their Tempe wafer fabrication (fab) facility. The special features of this device include a special bit or byte-oriented format architecture that allows for easy programming, and its patented BitGrabber registers, whose no address/steering bits allow random access to the three registers for tuning via a 2-byte serial transfer to the 16-bit N register. Other as 2- features include a low operating supply current (useful in wireless applications such way radios, communication receivers, and wireless industrial controls where size and power consumption are critical), and a patented jam load feature that prevents erroneous data from being loaded into counters and improves lock times. Available package types include the 16 pin plastic PDIP, SO, and TSSOP with RoHS compliant versions also available.
